PORT DE CANNES | FRANCE

November 01, 2015

To the east below the Old Town of Cannes lies the Vieux Port, or Old Port, also known as Port Cannes I; at its northeastern corner is the Gare Maritime (Marine Railway Station), built in 1957.

THINGS TO DO:

Just walk uphill, and you'll reach Le Suquet, the town's historic center. The maze of about 10 narrow streets and alleyways, most of them pedestrian-only, overlooks the west end of the old port. Follow rue Saint-Antoine uphill for the best views in town!!!

La Croisette and rue d'Antibes are where you will find the luxury boutiques and art galleries.

Want traditional French food? Auberge Provencale is the oldest restaurant in Cannes, and it's a favorite of media and film people.

GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE | SAN FRANCISCO, CA

September 11, 2015

The Golden Gate bridge is one of the most famous and beautiful bridges in the world because of its spectacular location, graceful lines, Art Deco detailing, and emblematic color. With towers extending 700 feet into the sky and over 100 feet beneath the bay, the bridge is also an engineering marvel. You may walk or bike the entire length of the 1.2 mile-long bridge, but dress warmly!

DID YOU KNOW?

The Golden Gate Bridge has lost 7,500 tons (in weight) since it opened in 1937.

It is estimated that 5,000 - 10,000 gallons of paint are used to repaint the Golden Gate Bridge each year.

Three babies have been born on the Golden Gate Bridge. All of them have been boys.

International Orange was selected as the color of the bridge because it provided visibility in the fog for passing ships and also because it was a color that fit in naturally to the bridge’s setting and the surrounding land area.
